Warm hands...

My hands were very cold a couple of days ago and I decided that I needed fingerless mittens. The fact that casting on mittens would only result in said mittens being ready 2 days later resulted in my hands being cold for a further 48 hours, but little things like 'reality' and 'fact' have rarely held me back from doing what I want.

My Fall In Full Colour yarn club subscription has been a tremendous success and my December colourway was a beautiful deep blue merino/cashmere/mohair blend from Spirit Trail Fiberworks. And the patterns that accompanied it were for fingerless mitts (I know! What a coincidence, right?) and a cowl.

My neck was not cold so I opted for the mittens.
I loved knitting them, I adore this squishy yarn and they are delightfully warm. I want to knit a dozen or more...

And this month the club package included the buttons. Beautiful glass buttons. each completely unique although clearly part of the set, with little glass backs that make me want to smile. That do make me smile. They are from Moving Mud and they are my dream button. Not too heavy, individual without being garish. I'm considering investing heavily in buttons...

And so I have warm hands and as usual, not enough time to knit all the things. All problems should be that good.

Those are lovely! I find it so hard to find the perfect buttons; I really should learn to buy interesting ones when I see them (at fiber festivals and whatnot).

It's a knitter's curse to be cold and then want to knit something warm, instead of putting something on.
