A Material Distraction...

Dashing off to my place of employment but wanted to quickly show the Block Of The Month Quilt I'm working on, compliments of Craftsy. (There are actually two versions of this project, the 2012 series and the 2013 series. I am doing both. And my friend Maggie all the way in California is doing 2013! I'm so excited that we're both doing this. If only I could convince Amanda... or Toni... or Lindsay...)

This is the January part of the project and I have decided that I am going to use up all my blue scraps for this project. Blues and creams and whites. Should be interesting...

There are 4 off center log cabin blogs. I've put them together for um...artistic purposes, but they will be on separate parts of the quilt.

And in case you're wondering what the other (2012 version) quilt colours are, (I've already shown a few blocks from that one) then let me give you a gentle reminder...

Yes. All the colours except green and blue.

In case you're wondering where all the wool is, here's what showed up in my mailbox.

Four ounces of Woolgatherings 75% Organic Polwarth/ 25%Silk. It is soft, soft, soft.

And I would hate for anyone to think that the ready to knit wool asn't getting any love...

So say hello to Kauni Effektgarn.
People rave about this stuff so I thought I would give it a try. But when am I supposed to find the time? Must buy lottery tickets...

Ok, I just realised that I already showed those quilt blocks earlier in the week. I should read my own blog sometimes. All I can say is that seeing Maggie's blocks got me so excited, I double posted! It's all her fault...

Block of the month, huh..... I may think about that. Heaven knows there is enough fabric in this house. I have just booked accommodation for the Attic 24 Yarndale weekend exhibition thingy in Skip[ton in September. I have to use all the wool in this place before then. But it will be great to meet yarny bloggers! - Have you noticed how the 2012 colours match the new skein of wool? It is heavenly, by the way....

I'll take the hit this time but it is your only free one. I can't be the responsible one all the time!

Mmm, polwarth/silk. That stuff is going to be so luscious to spin. Can't wait to see what you do with the Kauni. I saw some really cool mittens knit from two ends of a skein of it once.

Don't worry Mags. Next time it will be Amanda's fault. I'll make sure we rotate the blame...
