Did anybody see February?

I think I blinked and missed most of the second month of the year. Hard to believe there are only 4 more days and we will be in March. Time speeding by is clearly another sign of the apocalypse, or what I like to call aging.

It's been a fun weekend that had at it's centre an evening of theater at the CAST theater to watch a production of The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity. It was very good. A small intimate venue with an even smaller volunteer cast that did a fabulous job.
I am a little tired and under the weather today, but all worth it.

As we are nearing the end of February I needed to get into the sewing room and finish off my Craftsy Block Of The Month 2013 block for February. It was a simple block with some strips and some partial seams and then voila. Done.

I'm still using all scraps as the plan is to clear the fabric stash. It's fun looking for the least similar prints to pull together. I am enjoying the contrast of it all.

And knitting right now has a lot going on. (Spinning, not so much.)
I am working on the hat I mentioned last week by The Fat Squirrel, namely Seedling Dreams.
It started out with a bowl of this.

That evolved into this.

And is currently this.

So far, so cute.

The yarn situation is getting quite tight and I may have to take out some rows, (me and my enormous noggin) but the squish factor and the sweet multiplier are phenomenal. I think it's a delightful pattern.

That hat looks gorgeous and very warm too. I rather like the idea of putting totally random pieces of fabric together in a quilt.....Hmmm. I may have to start one of those here too. Tomorrow.

The colors in that hat are so very spring-like! If it's too tight because of the stranding, have you tried knitting inside out, so the floats are on the outside?
