February lacks a little something...

February lacks more than a little, it lacks a lot. I am overwhelmed with the list of things to do these days. Between work and home, yesterday it felt like I was drowning. Even when I do get things done, it feels so little is accomplished compared to what needs to happen. And right now, in the middle of an incredibly busy month, I don't know that I see light at the end of this tunnel.
I also have an aunt that is ill. I don't see much of this aunt but I am very fond of her. Not to mention, the thought that it's hard to think of how much her family are suffering right now.
Ugh, february. It's going to have to change it's attitude.

As far as knitting goes, I keep thinking that all those people with knitting goals are making a terrible mistake. Why add pressure to something you love? (See how far gone I am?)

Meanwhile I've finished another pair of socks.

They are Shur'tugals by Socktopus and the yarn is Blue Moon Fibre Arts mediumweight Baby Zombie colourway. I enjoyed the pattern and enjoyed knitting with the yarn, but the colourway and its pooling leave something to be desired.

I finished another Anne Hanson pattern from her Fall in Full Colour 2012 club.

(More badly lit iPhone pictures but I don't see a lot of daylight these days.) This is actually finished and has gone to my niece. A sweet little cabled scarf called "Biergarten", knit in Studio June DK. Lovely yarn. Must.Get. More.

And lastly, a shawl for my aunt. Details to follow.

So even the knitting seems to reflect february. Badly organized and random. Not to mention that every time I knit anything I feel guilty that I'm not getting more important things done. And of course as the list of things to do grows, I burrow my head under the duvet even more…

I need to get away. Texas and the Hill Country Spinning Retreat can't come fast enough.

I agree -- February is a miserable month. At least it's short. I hope it goes by in a flash so we can get to March (and spring). Your knits look lovely, for what it's worth.

Hang in there.

So sorry to hear about your aunt. My heart goes out to you.

February is a miserable month, always is. Especially for us single people. Just keep in mind that spring will be here soon.
