March has descended upon us with snow (!) and vast expense. Well, unexpected expense. My car overheated again this morning on the way to work, and to sum it all up, I have bought a new car. It really is new, even though I swore I would never ever buy a new car as it was such a waste of money. But they gave me a good deal and a ridiculous interest rate and refunded me for a very expensive part that I had purchased for the old car, and the older models of this car do not have All Wheel Drive. And as I apparently keep my cars for a decade, I decided that AWD was worth the upgrade. For me. I don't need it here in Suburbia but I do like to drive up to the mountains and I feel safer with the option.
I also have another cold. This is a result of my seeing my niece on wednesday and she said to me, as she lay on the couch reading her book, "I'm sick." and I said to here, "My poor girl. Want to cuddle?"
It was the cuddling that did it. So I am 3 or 4 days into snottiness and congestion and the usual misery. I get every virus that moves within a 100 feet of me, and given my job, that's a lot.
There is some good news though. When I was at SOAR the flyer on my spinning wheel broke. See below.
I was spinning along and wondering why everything was suddenly so floppy when I realised that the flyer was wobbling along a whole new axis.
I contacted the lovely people at the Woolery and they were very kind and contacted Schacht who shipped me out a new one, and it's downstairs waiting to meet its wheel.
So there. An easy fix. That only took me 3 and a half months to do. (Actually it took me so long that technically it was past the purchase warranty but Schacht were very fair and used the shipping date instead. Yay Schacht Spindle Company!)
And as an aside, can I just say another yay but this time for TV! I am watching Psych, The Americans, The Mentalist, Once Upon a Time, Grimm (soon to be back), Elementary and probably a few others that have popped off my radar temporarily. I know this is a sad reflection of our times blah, blah, blah but I'm loving it.

Buying a new car is a pain, but if the old one kept acting up, I'm sure you're feeling a little safer now.
Sorry to hear you're sick. I've been dealing with a sick toddler for about two weeks (she seems to have picked up a second cold right after she started getting over the first one), which is almost as bad as being sick myself. Feel better!
Re: Yay for TV! Love it, and I'm sure that it'll make you feel better, or at least give you something to do till you feel better.
Grimm in two and half days. Can't wait.
